Senior Electrical Designer | Power & Electrification Division
Philippines | Permanent Work From Home
- Permanent work-from-home opportunity based in the Philippines, supporting major Australian energy projects.
- Work across a diverse portfolio of wind, solar, BESS, transmission and HV substation projects.
- Join a collaborative international team where your technical expertise will directly influence design quality and project outcomes.
The Opportunity
Fyfe's Power & Electrification Division partners with major energy developers and infrastructure clients to deliver large-scale renewable energy and power infrastructure projects across Australia. Based in the Philippines, you will work remotely as part of an integrated project team, contributing to greenfield developments and the upgrade and expansion of existing networks that support Australia's energy transition.
As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of Electrical Balance of Plant (EBOP) projects for wind farms, solar farms and BESS developments, while also supporting HV transmission and distribution infrastructure. You will collaborate virtually with experienced engineers and designers across Australia and the Philippines, gaining exposure to a broad range of technical disciplines and some of Australia's most significant energy projects.
This permanent work-from-home role offers exposure to HV substations, switchyards, underground and overhead reticulation systems, grid connection infrastructure and utility coordination activities. You will contribute to complex technical projects in a supportive team environment, with regular online collaboration across locations and time zones.
Please note: This position is open to candidates residing in the Philippines. The successful candidate will be employed locally through a third-party employment agency and will work exclusively with Fyfe's Power & Electrification Division.
The Impact You'll Have
- Deliver high-quality electrical design documentation for HV substations, utility infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
- Develop primary design deliverables including equipment layouts, cable routing, earthing systems, conduit layouts and detailed construction drawings.
- Support the successful coordination and delivery of multidisciplinary design packages to meet project and client requirements.
- Contribute to HV and LV power system designs, equipment selection and technical solutions for complex energy infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to enhance design quality, project delivery and technical outcomes.
- Help shape the delivery of renewable energy, transmission and power infrastructure projects that support Australia's evolving energy sector.
What You'll Bring
We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Designer based in the Philippines who is comfortable working remotely with Australian project teams, solving complex technical challenges and delivering high-quality outcomes across a diverse portfolio.
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
- 8+ years' experience within a design consultancy environment.
- Strong experience in HV substation design and detailed design delivery using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Experience delivering electrical engineering designs across renewable energy, transmission, substations, power generation, hydrogen, oil & gas or related energy sectors.
- Proven capability undertaking LV and HV power generation and distribution systems design, including equipment selection such as transformers, circuit breakers and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Experience completing HV and LV power system studies including load flow, short circuit, cable sizing, arc flash, discrimination and protection, earthing and harmonics assessments.
- Proficiency using electrical modelling software such as ETAP, EMTP or PSCAD.
- Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards, including AS 2067, IEEE 80, AS/NZS 1768, AS 3000, AS 3008, IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70.
- Strong written and verbal English communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-border team.
- Previous experience supporting Australian projects or working to Australian Standards is highly regarded.
It would be great if you also have experience in High Voltage and Low Voltage Switchboard design in accordance with AS 61439 and exposure to instrumentation and control systems.

Joining Fyfe from the Philippines means becoming a valued member of an international team, not an outsourced support function. Your expertise will have a genuine impact as you work on meaningful Australian energy projects and collaborate directly with experienced professionals across multiple disciplines.
Reasons to join Fyfe:
- Permanent work-from-home arrangement from anywhere in the Philippines.
- Direct involvement in major Australian renewable energy and power infrastructure projects.
